How Alix Works
FAQ
What does Alix actually do for me?
We handle everything related to settling the estate: probate filings, asset discovery, debt negotiation, taxes, final distributions, and more. You stay in control. We do the heavy lifting.
How is Alix different from a lawyer?
A lawyer alone can help with probate filings, but most families still struggle with everything else. With Alix, you get both: a licensed probate attorney who represents you and a Care Team who handles the rest, so you’re never left carrying the burden, all covered by one flat fee.
Can I just do this myself with a few Google searches?
You can, but most families who try quickly realize they’re in over their heads. Missing a single form or deadline can delay the process for months or cause legal issues. We’ve helped people avoid costly mistakes by getting it right from the start.
What if I already started the process on my own?
That’s totally fine. Many families come to us partway through. We’ll review what’s been done, catch up, fix anything that needs fixing, and take it from there.
Can I trust Alix with personal and financial information?
Absolutely. We use encrypted, secure systems to manage documents and communications. Only trained professionals handle your data.
How involved will I need to be?
We will keep you informed, but we do the vast majority of the work for you. You’ll review and sign some documents and make key decisions. Alix handles everything else. With Alix, most clients spend 2–3 hours per month on the estate compared to the 600+ hours it takes to do it alone.
How much does it cost?
We offer one flat, all-in price based on your estate’s size and complexity. No hourly rates. No surprise invoices.
Can I talk to someone before committing?
Yes. That’s what our free intro call is for: no pressure, no obligation. Just a real conversation to help you understand what comes next.
